I have been involved in photography and filming for over sixty years. In that time I have done too many daft, dangerous and delightful things from motorcycle stunt work on television series like the Saint to doing portrait commissions for people like Prince Philip and the Archbishop of Canterbury.
Forty years ago I quit, moved to a small village in the South of France and immersed myself in working with the early photographic techniques.
When I lived in the UK I taught photography (I have diplomas from colleges and universities to teach). I planned to open a school in France for photo workshops, but my lack of interest in digital work and my love of traditional darkroom processes put this to one side and I built up a successful online vacation rental business instead.
I am now combining my enthusiasm to share what knowledge and experience I have with the relaxed lifestyle of the Mediterranean by offering a selection of short workshops from the facilities I have in our home.
By setting the cost of the workshops just enough to cover my direct expenses and materials I can encourage people to come and stay with us in VillaRoquette and get a feel for some fascinating and beautiful photographic techniques without spending an arm and a leg.
